Police today arrested a hardcore criminal after slapping him with the Public Safety Act (PSA) in Jammu district, a police official said.
A dossier was prepared and submitted to the district magistrate in Jammu through a proper channel, he said.
The district magistrate granted orders regarding his arrest under the PSA, the official said.
"Tightening grip over criminals by dealing them with iron hands in the R S Pura border belt,one more hardcore criminal named Sunny Kumar,has been booked under the PSA," he said.
The man, involved in seven criminal cases in R S Pura police station, has been lodged at the central Jail, Kot Bhalwal in Jammu, he said.
