A jawan of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) today attempted suicide in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir by shooting himself from his service rifle.
Manoj Kumar, a native of Haryana posted in 137 battalion at Umda, shot himself this afternoon, officials said.
He was admitted to the Government Medical College hospital, where his condition is stated to be stable, they said.
Manoj was reportedly going through a disturbed phase but the exact cause behind the step is under investigation, they said.
