Dacoit gang busted, 5 held in Pb

With the arrest of five persons here, police today claimed to have busted a dacoit gang while they were allegedly planning a loot.

Acting on a tip-off, a raid was conducted last night at the backyard of a college here and five persons were arrested, police said, adding a motorcycle, a sharp-edge weapon and two iron rods were recovered from them.

The arrested persons have been identified as Joginder Singh, Vijay Singh, Vipan Singh, Avtar Singh and Tejwinder Singh, they said.Dacoit

The gang was active since past 7 to 8 months and they are also involved in various cases of snatching, police said.
 

A case has been registered against them and investigation is underway, they said.
