Dacoits loot equipment worth Rs 20 lakh from factory

A gang of eight dacoits allegedly looted material worth Rs 20 lakh from a factory located at the Acchad Industrial Estate here, police said today.

The incident took place in the wee hours today, PI Sunil Gaonkar of Talasari police station said.

"Around 1 am, a gang of eight to ten persons gatecrashed into the Jas Dathu Industries at the Acchad Industrial Estate. Some of them caught hold of the watchman and a supervisor and tied them, while others loaded the metal and copper alloys into the vehicle and fled from the spot," he said.

Police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused, police said.
