A 16-year Dalit boy has been killed RPT killed in a clash between two groups of people during the Chitra festival at Yemaneswaram RPT Yemaneswaram in the district, police said today.
Muniasamy succumbed to head injuries at a hospital in the clash last night, police said.
An altercation between the groups erupted over attending "mandagapadi" (temple ritual) for which Thevar community had paid fees to the temple.
The Thevars questioned Dalits turning up for the mandagapadi, leading to the clash, police said.
