The Indian Cricket Board's interim chief Jagmohan Dalmiya today congratulated India Under-23 team for winning the ACC Emerging Trophy with a victory over arch-rivals Pakistan U-23 team in Singapore.
"I am elated that India U-23 cricket team has 'emerged' as champions of Asia. It is indeed a matter of delight that the promising youngsters could again make the most of the opportunity," Dalmiya said here in a statement.
The former ICC chief also hailed the Asian Cricket Council for successfully organising the tournament.
"At the same time, I would also want to praise the ACC for organizing the Emerging Trophy successfully. It is, in fact, a great way of developing young talented cricketers in the region," Dalmiya added.
Led by Suryakumar Yadav, the India U-23 side beat their Pakistani opponents by nine wickets with 98 balls remaining to emerge champions.
