The Annapoorna kitchen at the Lord Manjunatheshwara temple at Dharmasthala in the district will be one among the five large-sized kitchens in the country to be featured in a television programme on the National Geographic channel.
A press release here said the channel had started airing 'India's Mega Kitchens' programme, with the aim of providing introduction and insight into the kitchens, which satiated the hunger of thousands of people.
The programme would introduce to the viewers how these mega kitchens were maintained and operated. Vikas Khanna, chef, restaurateur and cook book writer, is the host of the programme, which will be aired at 10 pm on Mondays and Thursdays.
Five biggest kitchens of India, Shirdi, Chennai Taj kitchen, Dharmasthala, main kitchen of Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation at Noida, and Akshaya Patra Foundation's kitchen at Hubli will be featured in this programme, the release said.
