Deaf-mute minor girl raped

A 13-year-old deaf-mute girl was allegedly raped by two men in Bandipora district of north Kashmir, said police today.

The girl was allegedly raped by Arif and Adil on October 4 while she was collecting firewood from a willow nursery in Lankreshipora village, a police official said.

The accused were arrested today following a complaint by the victim's father, he said, adding medical examination of the girl has confirmed she was raped.

The duo has been booked under Section 376 (rape) of the Ranbir Penal Code, he said.
