Declare Viper Island as National Memorial urges BJP

Mohan said he has written letters to prime minister Manmohan Singh, Leader of Opposition Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and Lt Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Lt Gen (retd) Bhopinder Singh to declare Viper Island as a National Memorial.

Mohan said in his letter he had apprised the pm and lt governor that Viper Island is no less importance than Cellular Jail as prior to Cellular Jail, it was the jail at Viper Island that the British used to send arrested political prisoners to Viper Jail. PTI COR
