A deer which strayed into a residential area in search of water was bitten to death by a pack of dogs near here today, officials said.
The deer, estimated to be five years old, had entered Nanjanapuram, a forest fringe area, apparently in search of water this morning and was attacked by stray dogs.
Though the residents of the area scared away the dogs, the deer died on the spot. Forest officials, on being informed, carried away the deer.
