Delhi: Cannabis worth Rs 1.2 cr seized, 2 held

Police today arrested two alleged inter-state drug traffickers and recovered from their possession eight kg Hashish, pegged worth over Rs one crore, which was brought from Himachal Pradesh for supply here.

The accused drug traffickers, Raju Ram, 41, and Leela Nand, 24, were arrested near a monastery at the inter-state bus terminal (ISBT). A search of their jeep led to recovery of the eight kg of Hashish which is worth Rs 1.2 crore in international market, said Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime).

The arrested accused disclosed that they had received the contraband from a contractor in Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.
 

Following this input a raid was conducted at Mandi but the source could not be found and efforts are being made to trace him, the Joint CP said.
