In a bid to encourage young pugilists in the city, the Delhi state Amateur Boxing Association is organising the 37th sub junior and youth Delhi State Championship.
The three-day competition scheduled to commence from June 12 will be held in Dakshinpuri. Medical examination and general weighing will be done on June 11.
The youth (junior) category will include pugilists of age group 17-19 whereas the sub-junior category will have boxers aged between 12-17.

Both the categories have around 100 boxers each divided into 25 and 10 sub-categories respectively.
Chief guests for the opening ceremony on June 12 will include local MLA Sourabh Bhardwaj.
As the
competition is open to all, the association expects more participation compared to the last time.
Manoj Kalosia, chief coach of the team said, "New developments have taken place, with qualified technical referee. Medical examination will be more strict and a new provision of video recording has been added.
