Delhi to host conference on global disarmament on Aug 21

The Group, headed by Mani Shankar Aiyar, was established to promote the objectives of the Rajiv Gandhi Action Plan for a Nuclear Free and a Nonviolent World Order, which was laid out in 1988.
The National Outreach Conference on Global Disarmament will be inaugurated by External Affairs Minister S M Krishna and will have a special address by the Vice-President Hamid Ansari, the official spokesperson in the Ministry of External Affairs said today.
The day-long conference is being organised by the ICWA and is supported by the MEA.
