Dolo appointed principal advisor to CM

Congress heavyweight and former Deputy Chief Minister Kameng Dolo was appointed as Principal Advisor to Chief Minister Nabam Tuki with the status of a cabinet minister.

Dolo assumed his office yesterday immediately after his appointment, an official order issued by the department of Cabinet Affairs, said here today.

The 58-year-old veteran leader is among the 11 Congress MLAs, including Tuki, who won the April 9 Assembly polls uncontested.

He represents Pakke-Kessang constituency of East Kameng district.

Born on January 27, 1956 at Pangia village in East Kameng district, the Congress veteran was first elected to the First Legislative Assembly of union territory of Arunachal Pradesh in 1978.
 

After his re-election to the Second Legislative Assembly in 1980, he was inducted as deputy minister and since then in his long political innings he held various portfolios like Animal & Veterinary, RWD, Rural Development, PWD, Home & Fisheries, besides holding the post of deputy chief minister during the Gegong Apang regime.

He had lost the 2009 elections to Trinamool Congress nominee Karya Bagang from Chayangtajo seat.
