Dr Chitrathara wins national award
The award will presented at chennai on January 25 next

Dr Chitrathara K, surgical oncologist, at a private hospital here, has won the Dr Duru Shah Distinguished Community Service Award.
The award, instituted by The Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI), is given for the best work done during the year in Rural Health for Cancer activities.
Dr Chitrathara started GynecOncoKare Society (GOKS) for conducting early detection cancer screening programmes, Cancer awareness and Rehabilitation for cancer patients which also organised lot of free camps and treatments in rural areas.
She had started Gynaec Oncology department in Regional Cancer Centre, Thiruvananthapuram and is the only female Urologist in Kerala.
