DROs designated to register marriages

Earlier, Tehsildars were only designated officers to registrar the marriages of NRIs, he said.

Now, the government has designated DROs along with the Tehsildars to register the marriages, the NRI Affairs and Revenue minister said.

This decision has been taken to provide hassle-free services during registration of marriages, Majithia said.

To eliminate any chances of corruption, the state government has asked all concerned officers to submit the report about NRI marriages to it after every 15 days, he said.
