Drug peddler arrested with 5 kg poppy husk

Police today arrested a suspected drug peddler and recovered 5 kg poppy husk from his possession.

Police identified the accused as Karamjit Singh alias Happy hailing from Gobindpura, Banga, presently residing in local New Sukhchain Nagar.

Happy was arrested from local Banga road during a routine check, police said.

He has been booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, police said.
