Eicher-Polaris, a 50:50 joint venture between Eicher Motors and Polaris Industries Inc, today launched its personal utility vehicle--Multix in Telangana.
"We are entering Telangana with two dealerships in Mahabubnagar and Karimnagar districts and will open six more outlets in the state over the next few months," Eicher-Polaris CEO Radhesh C Verma told reporters during the launch of the vehicle.
Multix boasts of three-way functionality, and can be used as people carrier, goods carrier and also a power generator.
"In the first phase, we launched Multix in 8 states and the vehicle is being sold through 30 outlets and in the second phase of expansion Multix will be launched in 11 more states by December end this year and sold through over 100 outlets (dealerships)," Verma said.
Multix, which is manufactured in Rajashtan has installed capacity of 60,000 units per year which can be enhanced to 1,20,000 units per year, he said.
