Elderly man sentenced to 7 year jail for raping a woman

A local court has sentenced a 67- year-old man to a seven-year jail term for raping a woman three years ago.

Fast-track court judge Shyam Kumar also imposed a fine of Rs 40,000, Additional government counsel Moolchandra Kushwaha said today.

The accused, Jauhari had raped a woman in Sarsawa village in the district on September 21, 2014.

"The prosecution had presented seven witnesses before the court," Kushwaha said.
