Six more children succumbed to encephalitis in the district, during the past 24 hours taking the death toll to 479 this year, health officials said today.
The six died at the Baba Raghav Das Medical College Hospital (BRD-MCH) here yesterday. They belonged to different district of eastern Uttar Pradesh.
As many as 15 patients of encephalitis were admitted to the hospital during the past 24 hours, they said.
A total of 2,335 encephalitis patients have been admitted to hospitals this year, the officials said.
Over 200 patients are being treated at BRD MCH at present, they said.
