Engineer shot at in Ballia

An assistant engineer of

Irrigation department was shot at by a youth in Kotwali area, police said today.

V B Singh was allegedly shot at by Chandan Singh near a crossing here last night, Additional SP Ashok Tripathi said.

Singh sustained six bullet injuries in the attack, he said, adding that the engineer has been admitted to a Varanasi hospital in a serious condition.

Sleuths have launched a hunt to nab the accused.
