Engineering student commits suicide in Punjab

A 21-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging in his paying guest accommodation in Chaheru village here, police said today.

Aman Kumar, a B.Tech student and resident of Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, last night hanged himself in his room on the fourth floor of the multistorey building he was putting up at as paying guest in Chaheru, seven kms from here, they said.

It was yet to be known why he took the extreme step.
