Essar Oil today said it has appointed former IOC executive Rugmani Shankar as independent director on its board to meet the requirement of having at least one women director.
She has previously worked with Indian Oil Corp (IOC) for nearly a decade after which she founded her own consultancy firm, the company said in a statement.
Welcoming her, Prashant Ruia, Chairman, Essar Oil said, "Shankar is a well-regarded professional with expertise in various facets of corporate finance and the board looks forward to enrich from her wide experience.
