Ex-Delhi HC judge S K Mahajan to be FCAT's new head

Former Delhi High Court judge Justice (retd) S K Mahajan will head the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT), which hears appeals by filmmakers who are aggrieved by the decisions of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Official sources in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry said Mahajan has been appointed as the head of the Tribunal for a term of three years.

Previously, the post was held by Justice (retd) Rewa Khetrapal.

The Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) is a statutory body, constituted vide Section 5D of the Cinematograph Act, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and has its headquarters in New Delhi.
