Exploring Pop culture through gaming, animation, comics

Leading names in the field of animation, gaming, comics, graphic novel and manga industry are set to participate in a big celebration of India's pop culture, with international participation.

In its fourth edition, Anime Convention, a three-day flagship event of Cinedarbaar is set to roll out at the Marwah Studios at Noida's Film City from September 27.

With Korea as its country partner, the Convention in association with Korean Cultural Center here has scheduled to see Korean animation films like "S Robot Taekwon V" by Kim Cheong-Gi, "The King of Pigs" by Yeon Sang-Ho etc.

"The convention this year boasts has invited experts from Japan, Korea, US, Switzerland to gather and provide as much knowledge, entertainment and experience to its visitors," according to the organisers
 

Workshops, master-classes, sessions, gaming tournaments, exhibitions, merchandise, food, cosplay competition and special activities for children are scheduled for the event.

A karoke lounge with KPOP music and dance, Korean food a fashion show (Hanbok) and a session on Korean design and other activities promoting Korean culture throughout the three days.

Nao Hirasawa, an upcoming producer from Japanese anime company Production I.G is set to share his experiences.

The company is renowned for its "Patlabor" and the "Ghost in the Shell" series and also for helping develop artwork for games like Namco Tales Studio's famous title, "Tales of Symphonia."

Works of production I.G have won many awards and accolades in international film festivals and has also inspired directors like Quentin Tarantino for the animation sequence in his world hit, "Kill Bill".

Hirasawa has to his credits, programs like, "The Prince of Tennis" (2006), the five-part movie series "Broken Blade" (2010) etc.

Diago Umehara also known as 'The Beast', whose name is enough to create ripples in the Gaming industry, is also scheduled to participate.
