Members of a family were injured when a group of around 24 people allegedly assaulted and threatened them after barging into their residence in Prahladpur village here, police said today.
According to a complaint lodged by victim Pawan Kumar, around 24 persons barged into his house yesterday evening.
The cause of the attack is suspected to be old rivalry, police said.

They allegedly beat up Kumar, his wife and children with lathis and even opened fire at them. The men threatened the family of dire consequences, police said.
Kumar and his family members were injured in the incident and have been hospitalised, they said.
An FIR has been filed against the accused - Mir Singh, Rahul, Pawan, Anil, Sunil, Ranjit, Balwinder, Satendra, Narendra, Saurav, Billu, Shahid, Parwinder, Motu and five others.
No arrest has been made in this connection yet, police said, adding investigation is underway in the matter.
