The farmers and traders dealing in agricultural market are now facing tremendous recession due to a long dry spell, the market sources said.

The agro dealers keep the stock of seeds, fertilisers etc, but the farmers are not willing to purchase it due to the long dry spell in the absence of rains, they said.

The dealers are suffering as the companies are not taking back their produce and the stock of seeds purchased is lying in their godowns, Akola's agro-service centres organisation chairman Prabhakar Gawande said.

The farmers might be compelled to resow the seeds as the ones earlier sown are not in good condition owing to lack of rains, sources added.
