Dozens of farmers intercepted a vehicle of the central drought relief team at Rahatagaon village in the district and shouted slogans demanding a loan waiver.
They also demanded that Rahatagaon in Pachod tehsil be declared as a drought-affected village.
Officials accompanying Drought Relief Commissioner Raghvendra Singh assured the farmers that as soon as the team returns to New Delhi, it would recommend the Union government to take immediate action.
After this incident the team headed towards Beed district for inspection of the farms.
The central team is on a visit to Osmanabad, Beed, Latur, Jalna and other districts to assess the drought situation in Marathwada region of the state.
