Fire in cinema theatre, none hurt

A cinema theatre was partially gutted in a fire that broke out in the early hours today, but nobody was injured in the mishap.

The screen and projector, besides the tin-sheet roof of Vijaya Theatre was damaged in the blaze that erupted at around 2 AM, police said.

The watchman noticed smoke coming out from the side of the screen and informed the fire department, they said, adding that the fire was doused within an hour.

Cause of the fire is being investigated.
