Fire in Lucknow slum

A major fire today broke out in a

slum cluster in Badshahnagar area here, destroying property worth about Rs 5 lakh, police said.

Nobody was killed or seriously hurt, though a few persons sustained minor injuries in the incident.

The fire was suspected to have been caused by a high- tension wire that passes over the area.

As many as 14 fire tenders were pressed into service to control the blaze, they added.
