A fire broke out in an oil mill here which gutted packaging material worth several lakh rupees, police said.
The fire broke out at the second floor of the Hari Oil Mill, meant for packaging and then spread out in other area of the mill yesterday afternoon.
"The cause of the fire, prima facie appears to be short circuiting of power line. In spite of the notice served to the owner of the factory earlier, he has not made fire fighting arrangements", District Fire Station Officer B P Tripathi said.
Had the fire brigade not reached in time, the loss would have been more, Tripathi said.
