A fire watcher was badly injured while trying to extinguish a forest blaze in Mori area of Uttarkashi.
Kripal Singh sustained serious burn injuries while trying to douse forest fire in Mori area of Uttarkashi district yesterday, an official release said here today.
Singh was flown to Dehradun in a chopper for treatment immediately after the incident and his condition is improving, it said.
Praising Singh for his professional dedication, the Chief Minister said more forest personnel like him were needed and assured him of all help from the state government in his treatment, the official release said.
The state's forest department employs fire watchers to alert the authorities incase there is a wildfire.
