Five persons have been arrested for allegedly betting on ongoing IPL cricket match series here.
After a tip-off, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ran Vijay Singh raided a hideout in Shatabdi Puram area yesterday and arrested Mukesh Kumar, Gaurav Garg, Saurabh Mittal, Anurag Garg and Gaurav Gupta.
They were found betting on on-line betting on IPL matches, Superintendent of Police Ajay Pal Sharma said, adding that police seized Rs 5.25 lakh cash, one laptop, 12 mobile phones, two LCD screens and three calculators.
All five were engaged in on-line betting on IPL matches.
During interrogation, they have confessed of having international links, the SP said.
