Five criminals detained under Goondas Act

: Five criminals were detained here today under the Goondas Act on the orders of District Collector T P Rajesh.

Police said the five had many cases against them and had already undergone imprisonment, but continued their anti-social activities in the district.

The collector ordered their detention based on the recommendation of Superintendent of Police P Kannammal

All of them were lodged in Salem Central Prison, police said.
