Five persons drowned in three separate incidents in the district today, police said.
According to Narmetta Police, two persons P Kranthi Kuarm (19), L Nagaraju (19) of Jangoan went to Bommakuru village to swim in a reservoir there where they drowned.
The deceased were students of first year B Tech at Christhu Jyothi Engineering college in Jangoan town.
In another incident, two boys drowned in Pedda Cheruvu Tank of Ayyagaripalle village in Kuravi Mandal.
According to Kuravi Police, the boys after playing Holi, went to the tank to have a bath, but drowned in the tank and died.
The deseased were identified as D Veerendhar (10) and Charan (9), both were students of a primary class.
In another incident G Naresh (20) drowned in a tank at Fathepoor village of Thorrur Mandal today.
