Five killed as bus rams into roadside eatery

Five persons were killed today when a bus carrying them rammed into a roadside eatery here, police said.

The mishap happened early this morning after the driver of the Tiruvannamalai-bound bus from Madurai with 50 passengers on board lost control of the vehicle which ploughed into a roadside eatery killing two persons on the spot.

Three others were declared 'brought dead' at a local government hospital, police said adding the driver Karmegam (48) has been arrested.

Three persons who were injured were admitted to hospital, they added.
