Former cop's foster son dies in road accident

An 18-year-old youth, a foster son of the former Inspector General of Police and senior BJP leader, was killed in wee hours today when a vehicle in which he was travelling rammed into an electric pole in Nai Basti area here.

Fahad Mir, the foster son of Farooq Khan, died in a road accident after he lost control over his car that rammed into an electric pole in the Nai Basti area of Jammu city, police said.

"The vehicle turned turtle after it hit the electric pole, and Fahad died on the spot," a police officer said.
 

Farooq Khan, who retired as the Inspector General of Police, had recently joined BJP and was made party spokesman in the state.
