Rajasthan anti-corruption bureau (ACB) today arrested five people, including former vice-chancellor of Jai Narayan Vyas University B S Rajpurohit and ex-MLA Jugal Kabra, in connection with the alleged irregularities in recruitment of teachers in 2012.
Kabra, a former Congress MLA from Jodhpur, was a member of the Syndicate of the city-based university at the time the alleged irregularities occurred.
Besides them, Syndicate members Dungar Singh Khinchi and Shyam Sundar Sharma and an upper division clerk (UDC) Keshvan have been arrested in the case, ACB officials said.

There are about 30 accused in the case, including some selected candidates, Superintendent of Police, ACB, Ajay Pal Lamba said, adding more arrests are likely in the matter as probe progresses.
ACB had initially filed an FIR against 17 people, including Rajpurohitand the varsity deans, head of departments (HODs) and the beneficiaries after it found incriminating evidences against all of them in a preliminary investigation in August 2014.
Controversy had shrouded the recruitment drive after allegations were raised thatnot only rules and regulations laid down by the UGC were flouted flagrantly but the varsity exercised favour in selection of those few having relation with politicians,universityteachers and even the judiciary.
