Four convicted for life in double-murder case

A Munger court today sentenced four people to life imprisonment and handed down 10 years' imprisonment on another after holding them guilty in a 2014 double-murder case.

Additional district judge-I Jyoti Swarup Srivastava awarded life imprisonment to Nandan Yadav, Satish Yadav, Kallu alias Ranjan and Ratan Shah after finding them guilty of the murder of Rohit and Sunny.

The judge slapped a fine of Rs 25,000 on each of them as well.

The fifth accused, Vikram Kumar was awarded 10 years' imprisonment and was ordered to pay a penalty of Rs 15,000 after he was found to have been involved in the conspiracy in the double-murder case.
 

According to prosecution, the convicts had shot dead Rohit and his friend Sunny at Shankarpur village in the district on September 3, 2014 after persuading the victims to join them for a picnic.

The victims' kin had lodged an FIR at Qasim Bazar police station against the five people.
