Four dead, 4 injured in mishap

Four persons were killed and four injured when a container lorry hit the car in which they were travelling near Kottakal in the district early this morning, police said.

Theeight occupants of the car were on their way to Nedumbassery airport in Kochi when the lorry hit the vehicle from the rear while trying to overtake it at a dangerous curve on the road, police said.

Two of the seriously injured were admitted to a private hospital in Kottakkal while two others were treated for simple injuries

Details of the occupants of the car are yet to be known, police said.
