Four houses gutted in fire

Four houses were gutted after a fire that broke out in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir but there was no report of any casualty, police said today.

The blaze erupted from a house at Batpora village of Sopore area, 50 kms from here, last evening and engulfed three adjoining houses, a police spokesperson said today.

The cause of the fire is yet to be known.

Meanwhile, a constable Khurshid Ahmad was injured while trying to douse a fire that broke out in a wood-and-tin shed at tourist reception centre here last night.
