Four persons, including two women, died and 16 others injured when the jeep they were travelling overturned in Chhattisgarh's Balrampur district today, police said.
The incident took place this evening near Bhandardipa turn when the victims were on way to Basketi village of the district from Orsa in the neighbouring Jharkhand, a police official said.
Around 19 people, mostly members of Mahto family, were travelling in the vehicle for some event.

When the jeep reached near, Bhandaridipa curve, the driver lost control over the vehicle and it overturned leaving him and three other occupants including two women dead on the spot, he said.
On being informed, a police team reached the spot and shifted the injured to hospitals, he said.
While four seriously injured have been shifted to Ambikapur district hospital, 12 others were undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kusmi, he added.
The deceased were identified as Ramnath Yadav (26)- the driver, Mamta Mahto (42) and Shakuntala (35), the official said, adding, identity of another person was being ascertained.
A case has been registered in this connection and further probe was on, he added.
