Four women were today killed and five others, including the driver, injured when their SUV rammed into a roadside tree on NH-30 in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district, police said.
The SUV, carrying 9 persons including the driver, was returning from Bijli Palki village of Narayanpur district this morning after the marriage ceremony when the incident took place nearAaturgaonvillage under Kanker police station limits, Kanker Superintendent of Police Jitendra Singh Meena told PTI.
The victims were heading toDhanseravillage of Narharpur block in Kanker.

As per the preliminary information, the driver lost control over the vehicle near Aaturgaon on Jagdalpur-Kanker road following which it crashed into the tree and fell into a ditch leaving four women dead on the spot, the SP said.
All the five injured were admitted to a local hospital, the SHO said, adding that a case has been registered in this connection.
