Four of a family killed, one seriously injured

Four members of a family were mercilessly killed while another was seriously injured allegedly by some unidentified assailants at Mehrauli village here, police said today.

The incident happened midnight last night under Kosi Kalana thana area, when the assailants attacked the shelter in which the family was living and shot dead four persons, police said.

The victims have been identified as Khalid, Azeez, Muvin, and Nijju, they said.

The fifth member Mausam was rushed to a hospital and she is in a serious condition, they said.

According to preliminary investigation, Khalid was one of the six persons arrested in a murder case of Takla Khurshid and Hukumu in August two years ago, and had been released on bail yesterday. It is possible that the accused were known to these two persons, police said, adding the investigation is on in the case.
