Four persons commit suicide in separate incidents

Four persons allegedly committed suicide in separate incidents here, police said today.

A 24-year-old youth committed suicide after failing in police recruitment exam, police said today.

Prabhat Shukla, resident of Barah area here, consumed poison yesterday after failing in the police recruitment exam for which he was preparing for a long time, they said.

He was rushed to the hospital by his family where he was declared dead, police said.

In another incident, a 14-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house in Kakadev area here yesterday after being scolded by her mother, police said.
 

In a third incident in Shyamnagar area here, 45-year-old wife of a retired army man committed suicide by consuming poison after her husband scolded her over some family dispute.

The deceased, Neelam Singh, was rushed to the hospital by her family where she died during treatment, police said.

In a fourth such incident, a 30-year-old woman allegedly set herself ablaze after having a fight with her husband at Saraymeeta area here, police said.

The deceased, identified as Soni, was chided by her husband when she couldn't make food in time following which she set herself on fire, they said.

All the bodies have been sent for post-mortem, police said adding, a probe into the cases is on.
