An FIR has been registered against 14 persons in city police station here after their BPEd degrees were found to be fake.

The case comes a month after 46 persons, seeking jobs in junior high schools in the district, were booked after their Bachelor in Phycical Education (BPEd) marksheets and degrees were found to be forged.

"Degrees and marksheets of 14 more candidates seeking jobs as Anudeshaks (part-time instructors) in Basic Education department are found to be fake after which FIR has been registered against them," District Basic Siksha Adhikari (BSA) Om Prakash Ray told PTI.

"A total of 60 degrees and marksheets had been sent to Lucknow University for their verification in April. The Examination Controller of the university, in his letter dated May 29, informed that records of 14 candidates did not match with university records and they were forged," Ray added.

So far a total of 60 candidates for the post of part-time instructors in Kheri have been found holding fake degrees and marksheets.
