Freight rates decline on excess tucks position

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations slided by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following large position of trucks against cargo movements.
Transporters said heavy availability of trucks in the markets against cargo movements, mainly led to fall in some of centres freight rates.
Delhi to Bengaluru, Chennai and Mysore freight rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 61,000, Rs 63,000 and Rs 65,000.
Rates to Surat, Indore and Kanpur also went down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 25,500, Rs 21,000 and Rs 19,500.
