Freight rates for the nine-tonne pay load section depicted higher by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market today following pick up in cargo movements against less position of trucks.
Transporters said tight availability of trucks due to blockage and diversion in roads because of the floods in several parts of the country along with rising cargo movements mainly pushed up some of centres freight rates.
Delhi to Kolkata, Pune, Baroda and Patna freight rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 29,000, Rs 26,000, Rs 22,000 and Rs 25,000.
Rates to Bengaluru, Chennai, Mysore and Puducherry also enquired higher by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 61,000, Rs 63,000, Rs 64,000 and Rs 66,000.
