Fruit vendor crushed to death by water tanker

A 35-year-old fruit vendor was crushed to death allegedly by a private water tanker in south Delhi this morning.

The incident took place in Devli at around 6:30 AM and the victim has been identified as Netrapal, police said.

He accidentally fell on road and came under the wheels of the tanker whose driver lost control of the vehicle and it hit a telephone booth where people were waiting to collect water.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Driver Kuldeep (18) was arrested and a case of rash and negligent driving has been registered.
