Around 900 gelatin sticks and 1,100 electric detonators were today recovered from two persons in Para police station area of Purulia district, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, the police detained two persons and recovered the explosive substances from the duo before arresting them, a senior police official said here.
"We had the information about people smuggling explosives into the districts. We are interrogating them and trying to know where from they got the explosives," he said.
Meanwhile, six persons were detained from the district's Raghunathpur Police Station area for running an illegal "workshop" inside a house for manufacturing parts of small arms, he said.
Dismissing any link between the two incidents, the officer said, "So far there is no link between the two incidents. But we are working on to get more informations from the six detained in the case.
